Britney Spears: “I became pregnant by Justin Timberlake, but I had an abortion.”

Britney Spears drops a bombshell on her private life: “I became pregnant by Justin Timberlake, but I had an abortion.” The first previews of the pop star’s memoir, “The Woman in Me”, set to be released on October 24, have already sparked scandal. The pop star has decided to put her life in black and white, sharing untold events and taking shots at her family.
Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake: the love story
The love story between Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake was one of the most discussed and celebrated relationships in the entertainment world in the ’90s. These two young talents met while part of the cast of “The Mickey Mouse Club” when they were just teenagers. Their relationship became officially public in 1999, when both were members of popular boy and girl bands: Justin with ‘N Sync and Britney as a solo artist.
Their connection captured the imagination of the public and the media, quickly becoming one of the most iconic pop couples. However, in 2002, their relationship had a painful and tumultuous end, grabbing the attention of all the tabloids.
Justin asked her to have an abortion
In 2000, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake were both 19 years old and were real media sensations. What was not known, however, is that the star became pregnant, and the actor convinced her to have an abortion. “If it had been up to me, I wouldn’t have done it,” Britney recounts in the book, “But Justin was not at all happy about the pregnancy. He said he wasn’t ready for a child in our lives and that we were too young. The pregnancy was a surprise, but not a tragedy for me. I loved Justin very much and was convinced that we would have a family together.”
Today, the pop star confesses that perhaps abortion was not the right decision: “But Justin was so sure he didn’t want to be a father.”
Britney’s relationships
After her love story with Justin Timberlake from 1999 to 2002, in 2004 came the annulled marriage, just 55 hours after the ceremony, with her childhood friend Jason Allen Alexander.
Then, she had two children with American dancer Kevin Federline, from whom she divorced in 2006 due to “irreconcilable differences.”
Later, issues with drugs began, followed by a stint in rehab (“I really hit rock bottom,” she commented on that period), the loss of custody of her children (only regained after years of difficulties), psychological problems culminating in an involuntary psychiatric hospitalization, and problems with her family, primarily her father. She has just ended her six-year relationship with her most recent husband, Sam Asghari.
