Samsung Galaxy S23: One UI 6 update is here!
One UI 6

The moment that several Samsung Galaxy users had been waiting for has finally arrived. In the past few hours, the Korean giant has initiated the release of the stable One UI 6 update, based on Android 14, for the Galaxy S23 series devices in various markets. The company once again reaffirms its position among the best in terms of software support for its devices, becoming the first (after Google) to bring Android 14 in a stable form to its smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy S23 devices are starting to receive the Android 14 and One UI 6 update.

As mentioned earlier, Samsung has decided to end October on a high note by starting the release of the much-anticipated update to the latest version of the little robot for its current flagship Galaxy S series. The rollout of the update began with users enrolled in the beta program (available only in certain markets), who have already had the opportunity to experience several new features implemented by the company in the latest version of the proprietary interface over the past few months.

Users enrolled in the beta program should soon see the availability of an update that brings the firmware version to S916BXXU3BWJM. With a size of about 350 MB, this update will transform the beta version of Android 14 into a stable one.

Transitioning from Beta to stable

Not only users previously enrolled in the beta program but also those who are still using stable Android 13 are affected by this rollout. Samsung has simultaneously started the release of stable One UI 6 based on Android 14 for all Galaxy S23 devices in various markets. In this case, users who own one of these three smartphones will encounter a much larger update, not only in terms of implemented features but also, and especially, in terms of the update’s size, which is expected to be around 3 GB.

Manual update checks

As usual, if you do not want to wait for the notification but want to manually check for the update’s availability, you can do so by following the path: Settings -> Software Update -> Download and Install.

Preparing for a major update

Before you rush to perform the update on your smartphone, it’s important to remind you that, as this is a major update, it is highly advisable to back up your data before proceeding. You can use one of the various available methods, whether through the cloud, a PC, or physical storage. Considering the size of the update, you might also want to clean up your device by removing unnecessary files before proceeding. Finally, it’s recommended to update all installed applications on the device and ensure that your smartphone has sufficient battery to complete the installation of the update.
